Tell me about Prime Education

We're definitely not the biggest, and we don't pretend to be. However, we readily make up for size with that personal touch. We structure our program in a way that Prime students come to our classes because they want to, rather than being forced to. And when they get here, they enjoy their time and improve. That's not very tutoring-y is it? But that's why we exist. Come find us in Chatswood, opposite the Concourse. You won't miss the big blue-and-white sign.

What is the Prime teaching model?

Prime takes a 3 pillared approach when it comes to teaching.

Theory classes - Core content that covers the NESA syllabus taught using innovative methods that make sense and have life application. We make learning even the most boring things useful and fun.

Personalised tutoring - Every student learns differently, and that's why we believe personalising the experience is so important. Encouraging students to make Prime time their time is vital for supporting their specific and individual needs.

Additional resources - Have an exam coming up? Need to revise a particular topic? Want feedback for an assignment? We've got plenty of ways to help our students. Ask and they shall receive.

How are Prime's classes structured?

Believe it or not, we actually do teach properly, even though it's a lot of fun as well.

Homework revision - Doing homework is a highly encouraged habit as it allows students to practice what they've learnt again at home. This makes the content stick. And we do go through it to make sure everything is clear.

Topic test - You attended class last week, good. You did homework too, great. But the best thing to do would be to demonstrate your knowledge and skill during a live test. Show us what you've got, under conditions.

Theory lesson - This is the meat that you get to sink your teeth into. Learn new things and be amazed by how clear it is and how it all makes sense.

Questions? - If anything is too tough to chew, we'll never just lie down and leave it. Clearing it up before you go home is a must. And it matters, otherwise you'll struggle with homework and next week's test as well.

Are the teaching staff any good?

We always want to make sure that we have the best people on board, so the reality is that we turn away many candidates that we speak to. The cream of the crop do share the following traits:

Academic excellence - If you're going to teach something, you'd better be good at it. Oh, and have the ATAR and uni results to back them up.

Real passion - We pay well, so we don't mind that people come looking for a job. But you gotta love what you do right?

Genuine care - Students aren't numbers. They are real people with different personalities. C'mon, act like you care

Teaching experience - You have to know how to run a classroom. Mind you, communication skills take time to develop too and if you don't have them, it's a no-go.
