Year 12 English Standard Autumn Holiday

Price

$360.00

Our four-day Year 12 English Standard Autumn Holiday Programs are skill-based modules that give HSC-style exam practice for the outgoing term’s work and introduce the new term’s NESA syllabus so that our students stay ahead of their school peers.

We will unpack the Close Study of Literature NESA syllabus rubric, and learn glossaries of language techniques and conventions appropriate to your prescribed text. Students will grow familiar with exploring and interpreting a substantial literary text and the way composers portray people, ideas, settings and situations in texts.  Students will produce critical responses, basing their judgements on their detailed understanding of the text and its language features.  We cover all prescribed texts, from MT Anderson's Feed to Robert Gray's poetry.

We will work through practice exams for the common module, Texts and Human Experiences, and the Paper 2 modules exam, which are valuable experience, since there are not many NESA past papers available. These exams test comprehension of unseen texts and essay writing in exam conditions.

This four-day Year 12 English Standard Summer holiday program will focus on:

  • Module B: Close Study of Literature
  • HSC Exam practice of Common Module: Texts and Human Experiences and Paper 2 (Modules A, B and C)
